Evergreen Jazz Festival 2026: Your Complete Guide

June 10, 2026

The Evergreen Jazz Festival 2026 is one of those late July weekends worth planning around if you’re spending time in Evergreen this summer. Live music, mountain air, and a small-town setting come together in a way that feels very true to life here.

Whether you’re raising a family, thinking about retiring, or just looking for a stronger sense of community, it’s the kind of weekend that shows you what Evergreen is really about. Here’s everything you need to know before you go.

What the Evergreen Jazz Festival feels like

One thing I’ve noticed over the years is how this festival has slowly become one of those summer traditions people in town really look forward to. It still feels community-driven in a way that’s a little different from larger events.

It’s a nonprofit festival, and you can tell a lot of it runs on people who genuinely care about keeping traditional jazz alive here. Volunteers, musicians, and locals all end up being part of it in one way or another.

What stands out most is how close everything feels. You’re not far away from the music like you might be at bigger festivals. The venues keep things small and personal, so you end up feeling much more connected to what’s happening. You also notice a mix of people throughout the weekend. Longtime residents, newer families, retirees, and visitors all end up in the same spaces. It’s one of those things that quietly reflects what living in Evergreen is like on a normal weekend.

When does the Evergreen Jazz Festival Take Place?

The Evergreen CO jazz festival tends to follow a familiar summer rhythm here in town, with most people planning their weekend around it well in advance. The festival usually takes place in late July and runs from Friday through Sunday.

  • Friday, July 24: Noon to 11:00 PM
  • Saturday, July 25: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
  • Sunday, July 26: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Friday usually feels like it eases you into the weekend, starting around midday and going into the evening. Saturday is the fullest day, with music going from late morning well into the night. Sunday is a bit slower and wraps up in the late afternoon.

One thing you notice pretty quickly is that there are usually multiple bands playing at the same time across different venues. It helps to take a quick look at the schedule ahead of time so you are not trying to decide everything on the fly once the weekend gets going.

Who is Performing at the Evergreen Jazz Festival?

One thing I’ve noticed about this festival is how it always brings a really interesting mix of traditional jazz, swing, blues, and western swing into town. It’s never just one style, which is part of what makes it fun to move between venues.

After Midnight: This group plays a traditional swing-era style that a lot of people enjoy if they like classic jazz sounds.

The Carl Sonny Leyland Trio: If you enjoy piano-driven boogie-woogie with blues and ragtime influences, this is usually one of the more energetic sets.

Jon-Erik Kellso and the EarRegulars: A New York-style traditional jazz group that focuses heavily on improvisation and ensemble playing.

The Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra: A big band sound built around classic swing and dance-era arrangements. It tends to bring a more upbeat crowd.

Floyd Domino’s Western Swing All Stars: A blend of western swing, country influence, and traditional jazz that sits somewhere in between genres.

The Queen City Jazz Band: A long-standing Colorado group that’s been part of the traditional jazz scene for decades. Their Sunday gospel set is usually one of the more steady traditions of the weekend.

The full schedule is available through the festival site if you want to see how everything is spread out.

How is playing Evergreen Jazz Festival

Where will the Evergreen Jazz Festival happen?

The festival spreads across a few different spots around Evergreen, each with its own feel. A shuttle runs between all the venues throughout the weekend, so moving around is easy once things get going.

  • The Elks Lodge is usually one of the busier spots, with a large indoor dance floor and a patio that stays active when the weather cooperates.
  • The Lake House is a more relaxed setting right next to the water, with the kind of backdrop that feels very typical of summer here.
  • Evergreen Christian Church is a quieter listening space where the Sunday gospel performance traditionally takes place.
  • Center Stage is a smaller indoor venue with seating that tends to draw more focused sets.

How much are Evergreen Jazz Festival tickets?

Tickets are straightforward. Here is what is available depending on how much of the weekend you want to catch.

Evergreen Jazz Festival tickets are usually pretty straightforward. A full 3-day pass is $170. Friday is $90. Saturday is $130. There are also shorter options if you only want part of a day, along with a Sunday pass at $90 and a Friday evening option at $35.

There are discounted tickets for students and active military. There’s also a “bring a friend” option for returning attendees.

Tickets are available online through the Evergreen Jazz Festival tickets page or at the Elks Lodge when the weekend begins. It usually makes sense to plan ahead since things can fill up depending on the day.

What Should You Know Before Attending the Evergreen Jazz Festival?

A few things worth knowing before the weekend arrives. Book lodging early, because summer fills up faster than most people expect, and the festival weekend goes quickly. Arriving Friday afternoon helps too, since there’s usually a smaller educational set before things get fully busy. July days are warm, but evenings cool down fast up here, so a light jacket is worth throwing in the bag.

  • Use the shuttle. Parking fills up quickly around the venues, and most people find it makes the whole weekend a lot easier.
  • Slow down a little. A walk around Evergreen Lake or a meal nearby is honestly one of the best parts of the weekend.

Is the Evergreen Jazz Festival Worth Visiting?

For me, the Evergreen Jazz Festival is one of those weekends that quietly show what life here is like. It’s not really just about the music. It’s more about how people show up, spend time together, and slow down a little in the middle of summer.

When my family first moved here from Texas, moments like this were a big part of why Evergreen started to feel like home. It’s not something dramatic. It’s just the kind of place that grows on you in a very simple way. Events like this are also part of what makes it one of the more memorable things to do in Evergreen Colorado if you’re spending time here in the summer.
