I can’t help but think that Evergreen, Co must have been an inspiration for one of Thomas Kinkade’s many amazing Winter holiday paintings. Imagine a small mountain town with the Main street covered with twinkling Christmas lights, a garland adorned red wagon drawn by two majestic white horses carrying happy people bundled up in coats and hats. Snow like icing covers the roof tops while town people sip hot coco and hot apple cider as they visit with with friends huddled around a fire. The Children’s choir gathers to sing Christmas carols and fill the hearts of the towns people with holiday cheer. Santa and Mrs. Claus appear on the top of a fire truck to light the town Christmas Tree as the crowds huddle around to take part in this annual ritual. While this sounds like a fairy tale story, this is really what it is like to experience the Holiday Walk in Evergreen Colorado. It is a small town, magical experience that everyone should experience at least once in their life time.
The Evergreen Holiday Walk is just one of the many exciting events that take place in Evergreen. It was an amazing night and I am so thankful to all the downtown merchants and Evergreen residents that sponsored and put this event together. Many of the Evergreen residents participated in this fun event and it is just another great example of how the mountain community comes together to celebrate the holidays and life in the mountains. Below is a video and some photos of the Evergreen, CO Holiday Walk for 2016. I hope you enjoy.
